Took a trip from Taiwan back to the Bay Area for only 5 short days during the Halloween season. I got to see a lot of friends and do some fun and new things. Highlights include:
Fish Taco Party @ Brian's, where I demonstrated plenty of new-found fobbiness, and introduced the super-strong menthol Airwaves gum that no-one seemed to like. (more pics on Shawn's site.)
Halloween Party @ Scott's mansion in Los Altos.. big house, nice balcony with view
Construction of costume for Lucas/ILM Halloween party.. after a couple hrs of standing around at Home Depot, Rich and I decided that the best last-minute costume would be a something like a golf-course.
Lucas/ILM Halloween Party.. plenty of big crazy costumes. We didn't win anything, but we got a lot of comments. I also got to take a pic with George Lucas! Wee! But I can't post it (and other party pics) due to some legal reasons...

My first time trying golf at the driving range.. that was pretty fun! Hm, but golf is harder than it looks..and I also have a tendency to want to smack the ball on occasion (and miss horribly)
Trying the highly Zagat rated Venus restaurant on Shattuck in Berkeley. Pretty good food and nice atmosphere.
My first time at a comedy club. Went to the Punchline in SF. It was like "showcase" Sunday night. About 15 comedians doing 10 min routines. Some were funny, some not quite. But it was fun. Next time don't go on sundays.
Rich's first time at CPK. Peking Duck pizza's pretty good! So was the Jerk Chicken one.
My first time at Cheesecake Factory. Had good super-garlicky pasta and *real* cheesecake (none of that lemon-yogurt made stuff they have in Taiwan).
