Speed & Recklessness Weekend: Oct 2-3, 2004

As a result of my second speeding ticket this year, I decided to host a Downhill Mountain Biking weekend so I could have another way to speed. I did this biking thing last year and found it to be one the funnest, most life-threatening activities EVERRR! After the ski lift takes you up the mountain, you let gravity take you down the hill at reckless speeds, over numerous sharp rocks, through dusty clouds.

I gathered almost 20 friends up at Northstar in Tahoe this year. After a bunch of random misfortunes and bouts of getting lost, everything worked out we had a fun weekend. Saturday we did a hike to Watson Lake, after arriving at Northstar to find out that they were out of bike rentals for the day. For dinner we all went to Sushi Pier 2 in Reno for cheap all-you-can-eat sushi. Afterwards most of us donated money to Circus Circus, and got me plastered. Sunday eleven of us finally got bike rentals, and the hikers went to Lake Tahoe for some relaxing paddling. Unfortunately, was not entirely accident free, like last year's. Most of the bikers left with bloody scrapes on their arms and legs from skid-outs on the trails. EEP! Next time we'll invest in some body armour!
